Hungry to Hit Back at Brands Hatch

After a challenging weekend at Snetterton, Ben Currie heads to Brands Hatch determined to get his British Supersport Championship challenge firmly back on track.

Despite showing race-winning pace throughout the season, mistakes and illness at Round 4 meant Currie left Snetterton frustrated, but still firmly in the title fight. The McAMS Yamaha rider now arrives at one of his favourite circuits looking to turn the tables and build momentum as the championship reaches its halfway stage.

"The last round was definitely character building," said Currie. "We didn't have the pace straight away, but the team worked incredibly hard and by Sunday we made some really positive steps with the bike. We learned a huge amount that I think will help us for the rest of the season."

"Obviously I made a couple of mistakes that cost us valuable points, and that's on me. The good thing is we've identified a direction with the bike that gives me a lot of confidence going into Brands Hatch."

Having reduced the championship deficit to just seven points before Snetterton, Currie knows there is still everything to play for with plenty of races remaining.

"Brands has always been a circuit I enjoy and one where I've had some strong performances. The goal is simple get back to the front, fight for wins and start building momentum again. Championships are rarely won without a few setbacks, it's all about how you respond."

With confidence in the improvements made by the McAMS Yamaha team and a determination to bounce back immediately, Round 5 presents the perfect opportunity for Currie to reignite his championship campaign.

Round 5 of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship takes place this weekend at Brands Hatch.
